Highway 9 South Bridge Replacement
Georgia Department of Transportation has begun the construction phase for the bridge replacement on Highway 9 South over the Etowah River adjacent to Rock Creek Park. This is a state project and is out of the county’s jurisdiction. Expect delays and use caution approaching crest of hills or curves. GDOT has installed a temporary light that will control traffic flow. GDOT reviewed the traffic flow on Oct. 5, 2017, and is expected to make the necessary adjustments to improve traffic efficiencies. The construction completion date is Sept. 30, 2018.
