The Prevention Division employs 3 full-time personnel that are part of the Fire Services Administrative Staff. Prevention Staff may work a regular 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, or a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the community. Their primary duties include fire code enforcement, safety education and training, and fire/arson investigation, as well as community risk reduction and administrative responsibilities.

CPR - Community Classes
CPR classes are available to the public and held in the Training Room at DCES Station 7. To register, or for more information, contact Prevention Services.
The Prevention Division is responsible for building and site plan reviews, rezoning reviews, fire code compliance and enforcement, fire investigations, fire safety, public education, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes, ordinances, and laws. Employees are also available to conduct home fire safety inspections to our citizens at no cost. For more information, contact Prevention Services.
