The Dawson County Emergency Services Training Division provides all career and volunteer personnel with basic and continuing training in all aspects of emergency services. This training is delivered from an “All Hazards” approach. The division maintains all training records, ensures that personnel are up to date on methodology and technology, and is responsible for scheduling advanced training beyond minimum requirements.

Each year our personnel complete thousands of hours of training. Providing this training locally not only enables the department to ensure that personnel skills are maintained and improved, it also allows the department to provide training specific to Dawson County – all at a reduced cost.

The Training Division is also responsible for community training. The Training Division offers First Aid, CPR, and Fire Extinguisher Training. These classes are provided at minimal cost and are available upon request.
