Job Title: Firefighter/Paramedic (Part-Time)
Department: Dawson County Emergency Services
Salary: $14.00 - $20.93 hourly

Includes, but is not limited to, firefighting and patient care. Employee will acquire a knowledge of the operation of various types of apparatus, tools, and equipment used within the department; maintain all equipment and keep station in a state of readiness at all times. Employee will attend training and maintain the necessary hours to satisfy the department’s training requirements in Fire and EMS. Employee shall be responsible for keeping physically fit. While gaining Dawson County Emergency Services experience and training for advancement as Firefighter/Paramedic, employee will assist upper level Firefighter/Paramedics in simultaneous fire suppression, search and rescue, and patient care activities. Shall perform other related duties as needed.
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have four years’ experience as a firefighter and EMT; at least 12 months experience as Paramedic preferred. Must have a Georgia Paramedic Certification, NPQ Firefighter I certification, Basic Life Support certification (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), a valid Class B License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR); good verbal and written communication skills, have some knowledge of applicable state laws and county ordinances, and ability to communicate with the public on a daily basis. Applicant must be able to pass a Physical Agility Test along with a Background Check and a Drug Screening.
