Job Title: Accountant
Department: Dawson County Finance
Salary: $17.58 - $27.24 hourly
Status: Full-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing general accounting functions including reconciliation, account analysis, financial reporting, and assisting with other accounting duties for the County.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in  Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university, with one to two years’ experience in accounting or related field, preferably; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Applicant should have experience and knowledge of finance, financial systems, budgeting, financial outlooks, business controls, and audit interface including basic accounting practices, preferably governmental generally accepted accounting principles. Experience with general ledger accounts related to grants and EMS billing preferred. Experience working in County Government preferred. Skilled in operating modern office equipment and performing analysis and mathematical calculation on computer (Excel proficient). Applicant must possess a valid Georgia driver license and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and must pass a background check and drug screening as required by Dawson County Government.
