Parks & Recreation - Athletic Assistant

Salary: $13.53 hourly
Status: Full-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt


Job Summary:
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Athletic Director this position is responsible for the different components of athletic service delivery for youth and adult programs, including, but not limited to customer relations, design, promotion, implementation, supervision and evaluation of recreation and athletics programs, and general understanding of other Dawson County leisure offerings. 

Job Requirements:
This position will require for the applicant to have a knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with a bachelor’s degree in an area of study related to the occupational field, or the experience equivalent in a related field.  The hours for the position are not set hours but varies based on program activity.   Applicant must be able to work nights and weekends. The applicant must have the skills and ability for the following: perform mathematical calculations, interpersonal relations and conflict resolution, provide quality customer service/relations, communicate effectively both oral and written, and obtain skills in the operation and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities. Other skills required are of common office applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. The applicant should also be knowledgeable with the principles and practices of public recreation, recreational trends as related to athletic programs and activities, rules and regulations related to various sports, acceptable safety principles and practices related to recreation programming, county and departmental policies, procedures, and practices as well as all laws relative to the service area.
