Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Department: Dawson County Planning & Development
Salary: $15.84 hourly

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to include but not limited to: answering the phone, greeting customers, reviewing and processing building permits, business license, alcohol license, and providing assistance in the creation and administration of planning commission and board of commissioner meetings, agendas, and minutes.
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and minimum one year experience in related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having similar position for one to two years. Basic knowledge of standard building permits, permit applications and business licensing preferred. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and have no adverse driving record or felony conviction. The applicant must have the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations and have an understanding of basic office equipment and computer skills. Individual should be able to interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner and provide good customer service. The applicant must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening.
