Job Title: Zoning Administrator
Department: Dawson County Planning & Development
Salary: $17.58 hourly
Status: Full-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for processing zoning, variance, and development applications for the county; providing clerical support for the Planning and Development Division as well as the Dawson County Planning Commission; performing the complex duties of alcohol licensing; and for communicating directly with the public to answer any questions that may arise during the licensing process.

Job Requirements:
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.  Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent (Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.); and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides a sufficient level of understanding of the essential duties of the position. Applicant should demonstrate exceptional interpersonal communication (verbal and written), data entry, and organizational skills and be skilled in operating modern office equipment, being knowledgeable in office procedures and administrative methods. The applicant must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening.
