Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing professional, quality service to the citizens and users of Dawson County in providing emergency and nonemergency communication services and dispatching the appropriate emergency personnel. This position is also responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the Computer Aided Dispatch system and mobile data terminal system. A person in this position requires using independent judgment and discretion in difficult or unusual situations that may create psychological stress.  A person in this position does not supervisor others and performs under the supervision of an E-911/communications supervisor.

Job Requirements
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older. A high school education, GED, or any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills equivalent is preferred; any combination of education and training that is dictated by the agency’s standard operating procedures. Individual must complete Basic Communications Officer Certification, Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification, C.P.R. Certification, G.C.I.C. Terminal Operator Certification, and all additional training requirements when scheduled.  Applicant must be a citizen of the United States or qualified to work in the United States, have no felony convictions, possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s history, and pass a background check and a drug screening.
