Registering for Youth and Adult Sports

How do I register?

1.  Walk-in Registration during the designated registration periods

Walk-in registration is held at Rock Creek Sports Complex and requires a written registration form and payment in full.  Registration forms may be downloaded here or obtained contacting the main office at 706-344-3646; however, only registration forms submitted during the designated registration periods will be accepted.

2.  Online Registration 24-hours/day during the designated registration dates.

Before you register online

You may set up your account at any time but may register only during designated registration periods.  Set up your family's account once and you will benefit from it each and every time you register for an activity through Dawson County Parks & Recreation.  We currently do not offer online registration for all Parks & Recreation programs.  The only programs and activities we offer online registration for are listed below under the "Returning Customers" heading.

Don't have internet access?
Not a problem!  You have the following options:

  1. Visit your local Dawson County library for use of on-site computers
During walk-in registration, you will have the following options:
    1. Use on-site computers at Rock Creek
    2. Complete the standard paper registration form during walk-in registration
  2. Participate in walk-in registration during the designated registration dates and times

First-time online customers need to begin by first setting up your account by clicking on the one of the links below.  Once you have set up your account by entering all the required information, including your credit/debit card information (Visa and Mastercard only), you are ready to begin your registration process.  Once your account is set up, you should see only the activities that your account members are eligible for.  If the eligible activities do not automatically appear up setting up your account, please log out and log back in.  You should then see the eligible activities for your account members.  If you are still having problems, please contact us at 706-344-3646 during regular office hours (Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM) and a park staff member will walk you thru the registration process.

When can I register?

Registration dates and times are listed on the online calendar.  Information found on the online calendar is subject to change without notice.  Please check back periodically for updates or call us at 706-344-3646 during office hours (Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM).

How is registration advertised?

Registration information is advertised the following ways:

  1. Online at www.dawsoncounty.org
  2. Dawson Co. Parks & Rec. Facebook page
  3. Through the Dawson County school system in the form of advertisement sign and brochers/activity guide distribution
  4. In the Parks & Recreation Activity Guides (online Flip-Book version of the activity guides contain updated information)
  5. Posted on signs and flyers at both Rock Creek Sports Complex and Veterans Memorial Park
  6. Email blasts sent thru the Dawson County Parks & Recreation database (email addresses are collected when you register for an activity or rent a facility directly thru the Parks & Recreation administrative office)

Advertisement for registration generally begins 2-4 weeks prior to the first date of the registration period.  The dates given for registration are the only days in which registration applications will be accepted. Registration applications will not be accepted without payment or Fee Waiver (approved through Administration).

What do I do if I miss registration?

A Wait List becomes available immediately following the completion of registration. If you fail to register a participant during the designated registration dates and times, you may add the participant's name to the Wait List by calling 706-344-3646 during regular office hours (Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM).  You may also add to the Wait List online by following the instructions above for regular online registration.  Instead of actually registering the participant for the activity, the system will automatically recognize that the registration period is over and will add the participant to the Wait List for the activity and will notify Administration of this Wait List addition.  If a spot becomes available for the participant to enroll in the activity, Administration will contact you. Adding a participant to the Wait List does not guarantee him/her a spot in the activity. For youth sports, a required additional $20 Late Fee will be added into the total fees if the participant is removed from the Wait List and added to the activity. For adult sports, a required additional $50 Late Fee will be added into the total fees if the team is removed from the Wait List and added into the league. This fee may not be waived.

Can I register if I do not live in Dawson County?

Yes. An additional $20 fee will be added for any non-Dawson County resident wishing to participate.

Registering for Classes, Camps, and Other Activities

Classes, camps, and other activities are offered to you as outsourced programs.  What this means to you is that you must register for the activity directly through the activity instructor/organization rather than through the Parks & Recreation Department.  Contact information for each activity is listed at the bottom of the activity section.  The links below will redirect you to the various pages where you will find these activities and their corresponding contact information.
