Boot Camp

Enjoy the great outdoors while increasing your cardiovascular system and sculpting lean muscle.  We use the natural environment to shape up!  This class requires you to bring a set of hand weights, a mat or beach towel, and water.  All classes will be outdoors, weather permitting.  During inclement weather, classes may be held inside the Rec. Center.

ALL participants MUST complete a Medical History Form prior to participating.  Forms are available on location at first day of class, as well as, at Rock Creek main office.

• 3 Sessions to choose from:  7:05-8:05AM  |  5:45-6:45PM  |  7:00-8:00PM

• $60/month (pay by the 5th of each month to avoid $12 late fee)

Fit-Trail/Camp

Outdoor fitness classes held at Veterans Memorial Park - classes meet at the Large Pavilion.  All classes require a set of hand weights (5-8 lbs) and a mat.

Functional Interval Training

Functional Interval Training is an outdoor fitness class guaranteed to deliver a total body workout. A perfect alternative to the gym setting!  This class combines upper and lower body exercises with core and cardio throughout to leave you burning the maximum amount of calories all day in just 45 minutes of work. Get ready to discover new exercises to challenge yourself using just your body weight.  All exercises are provided with modifications.  If you are new to exercise or an elite athlete, join F.I.T. classes to see and feel the difference.

Tai Chi Chuan

 When learned correctly and performed regularly, Tai Chi Chuan can be a positive part of an overall approach to improving your health. There are many studies showing the variety of benefits that can come from the consistent practice of these ancient arts.  Benefits such as: increased energy and stamina, flexibility, balance, agility, and aerobic capacity, all while decreasing stress and anxiety. 

The movements of Tai Chi Chuan are performed in a slow, focused manner, accompanied by proper breathing.  They require concentration on your immediate activity with an emphasis on relaxation.  Through your practice in this program you will learn to center, relax, and balance yourself not only physically, but mentally as well. This class is a low impact and a perfect exercise for men and women of all ages. 

With the Tai Chi Center of North Georgia you will get the health benefits, from properly learning movements of Tai Chi Chuan and learn to flow each posture into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. You will also be shown the martial aspects of the movements so that they may contain more meaning for you in your personal practice.

• Located inside Rec. Center at Rock Creek
• $25 residents / $45 non-residents (3-month membership)
    Membership covers up to 5 members per household
• Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult

The Blend  
Yoga Stretch, Build, Relax  

 

The Blend      A great mix of Cardio, Hand Weights and Relaxation!  The Blend is a whole body workout on the lighter side.  From pushups to low lunges with weights, crunches to squats and a lot in between.  Attendees start with pushups on their knees to full plank pushups in a very short time.  Even if you are carrying a few extra pounds, you can do this and feel great about yourself.  Office workers, this is a great class to get your body moving and relieve a lot of stress that keeps you awake at night.  No matter your size or shape, as long as you are motivated and believe in yourself, you can do this.

Yoga Stretch, Build, Relax      Every class starts with relaxing, breathing and slow warming moves and eases into Sun Salutations.  Gradually increasing movement, we begin to lengthen and build each muscle group, using just our body weight and our breath.  Coming back down to restore the body to lengthen, stretch and balance.  Finally refocusing our minds and bringing us back to center, we end in Final Relaxation with soothing, calming music as the instructor leads you peacefully into relaxing the mind and body.  Any age, any body type can do this class and get so much out of it.
