Dawson County Email System Impacted
Recent storms, electrical outages, and the added issue of aging computer equipment dealt a heavy blow to the County’s IT infrastructure this week. As a result, the county-wide email system has been impacted and all incoming and outgoing email has been disrupted. The Dawson County IT Department has been working quickly and tirelessly to make the necessary repairs to restore the email system to full capacity.
A much-needed upgrade to the current computer system was anticipated and approved by the Board of Commissioners at the May 5, 2016 voting session. The Board approved $250,000 to be paid entirely out of SPLOST V funds for new computer equipment and servers. The computer system upgrade is in progress and should be completed in the next 90 days.
The Board regrets any inconvenience this may have caused. Please call 706-344-3501 for further assistance.Return to news list
