Moonshine Festival Road Closures, Oct. 27-29
The 50th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville will be held Friday-Sunday, Oct. 27-29. Roads will close at 3 p.m. Friday and remain closed until about 8 p.m. Sunday.
Highway 53 East will be closed at Jack Heard Road, and traffic will be detoured at that point. Highway 9 North will be closed at Perimeter Road, allowing for one-way local traffic traveling south into town, with a two-lane closure at the apartment complex just north of town. 53 at the square (east of the square) in front of the antique shop also will be closed for the festival. Highway 9 South and around the Historic Courthouse, as well as 53 West, will be open as normal.
The Dawson County Government Center (courthouse) will be open Friday until 5 p.m. as normal.
