Register Now for Citizens’ Government Academy 2016
Do you want to know how your government works?
Citizens are invited to meet their government “in person” and go behind the scenes of Dawson County’s many departments at the 2016 Citizens’ Government Academy.
The Citizens’ Government Academy is a FREE ten-week course designed to provide an in-depth look at the diverse activities of Dawson County government. This award-winning program, featured in Georgia Trend magazine, offers sessions on emergency services, finance, parks and recreation, planning and zoning, law enforcement, court systems, special projects, and many other vital community services.
Sessions will meet Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:30pm beginning September 13th through November 15th. Academy “graduates” will be recognized at the Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, November 17th at 6:00pm. A reception will follow.
Sessions will be held in various locations throughout the community in order to expose citizens to the different offices of Dawson County government.
The Citizens’ Government Academy is open to the public and there is NO fee to attend.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and be a resident of the United States.
